Under 18

You're under 18. Come back the day you turn 18.

Virginia has a hard age rule for Medication Aide registration, and enrollment in this program is 18 and older. The moment you are 18, apply and we will get you on your way.

The age rule

Why do you have to be 18?

The rule

Virginia requires you to be 18 to register and test, with no exceptions regardless of CNA status. The state exam, run by PSI, cannot be taken before your 18th birthday, and the Board of Nursing will not issue your Medication Aide registration until you turn 18.

What this means

Enrollment in this program is 18 and older. That includes the training itself, not just the exam, so there is no early start, with or without a CNA. Nothing is lost by waiting: apply any time after your 18th birthday.
